We drove 300km to the mining towns of Emerald, Sapphire & Rubyvale. It was dry! Every house seemed to have a mine in the backyard.
After a great campfire evening, I woke up, ate breakfast and got dressed. Then we went to the gem fields and fossicked.
We met a guitar playing story teller named ‘Jeff’ who entertained the campers around the communal campfire each night and inspired us to learn ‘Father & Son’, ‘Folsom Prison’ and ‘November Rain’. His stories of achieving ‘GuanXi’ (relationship) to overcome challenges throughout his China travels hit a chord with us.
We played in a local playground and ate a great Pub feed of steak, bangers & mash and snitzel.
